TrueView was originally founded by Marilyn in 2017. It began as a simple spreadsheet system under the name "Defend Your Money." The idea behind the name was that, like sports, you need both a good offense (making money) and a good defense (taking care of that money) to succeed. Unfortunately, when most of us think about improving our finances, we tend to focus our efforts on the offense, without realizing what a difference a good financial defense can make.

After launching as an app, Mark joined the team and suggested that we change the name to TrueView, because it's less combative, 😊 and it is precisely what our app provides you; the TrueView of your money.

Our mission in developing TrueView has always been simplicity. We found that traditional budgeting is far too complicated, confusing and time consuming for many people. We also knew that if we could simplify the process, we would significantly increase our users' chances of succeeding with money.

TrueView was developed by an amazing team of developers based in Colorado and now in Utah, where we are located. All throughout the process we repeatedly asked ourselves, “How can we make this easier?”  With this goal in mind, we have worked tirelessly to make TrueView as simple and intuitive as possible.

We are not a bank, or a large fintech company with investors to please. We are a small start-up driven by a singular mission: to help you simplify your finances and succeed with money. We do not share our clients' data, nor will we attempt to sell you on other products. We invite you to give TrueView a try and discover for yourself how simple it is.
